Black Friday is November 27, 2026 and Cyber Monday is November 30. Here is what has historically been discounted in smokers and barbecue gear, what rarely is, whether to buy now or wait by product type — and where we will post the deals we have verified, once they exist.

The short version: pellet grills and thermometers have the clearest history of Black Friday discounts in our sources; premium brands like Weber and Big Green Egg hold their prices best; and charcoal and other consumables go on sale in summer, not November. Everything below is drawn from published 2025 sale recaps, retailers’ own announcements and one independent sale calendar, all cited at the bottom of the page and read on the date above. None of it is a prediction. A product class that discounted last year may not this year, and we will not pretend to know.

The picks in the table are our current top choice in each product class, at their normal live Amazon price with the date it was pulled. That is deliberate: the most useful thing a deals page can do in September is show you what “normal” looks like, so that when a sale sticker says “was $X” in November you have something honest to compare it with. Each pick carries a buy-now-or-wait note grounded in what our sources actually document for that class.

That is history, not a promise about this model this year. If you can wait until late November without missing a cook you care about, waiting has historically been the better bet in this class.

An independent sale calendar calls Labor Day the deepest Weber window and Black Friday the second-biggest, and describes the 18.5-inch Smokey Mountain as seeing only modest seasonal money off. Labor Day 2026 has passed. A Black Friday markdown on this smoker is possible and, by that account, likely to be small if it comes — so if the live price suits you, there is little documented reason to wait.

Kamados split two ways. Steel and mid-price ceramic kamados were discounted in 2025 — Bob Vila’s early Black Friday round-up listed the AKORN Jr. and Kamado Joe among the marked-down grills — while the premium ceramic brand, Big Green Egg, had by Variety’s account never held a sale in almost fifty years until a 2023 package promotion. For the AKORN specifically, there is a documented 2025 markdown on its smaller sibling and nothing we can cite on this model. If you can wait, the class has a recent record; if you cannot, the live price is the price.

What’s good

  • Insulated steel body sips charcoal — long cooks on one load
  • 445 sq in with a warming rack, plenty for ribs or a pork butt
  • Far lighter than ceramic and it will not shatter

That is thin evidence — a brand mention, not a price history — so we will not call it a pattern. Offsets are also the one smoker type that is least fun to learn in a cold December, which argues for buying whenever you will actually use it.

What’s good

  • 558 sq in primary grate, plus warming racks and a 184 sq in firebox grate
  • Nearly 95 lb of steel for the size, so temperature swings are gentler than a budget offset
  • Well-known brand, so gaskets, baffles and spares are easy to find

If it is a gift for late December and you can wait, the class has form; if you need it for a Thanksgiving turkey, buy it — the turkey will not wait.

Buy now or wait for November? By product class

This is our reading of the table above, and only that. It is not a price forecast, and a class with a strong 2025 record can go quiet in 2026.

  • Pellet grill:if you can wait until late November without missing a cook you care about, waiting has historically been the better bet. If you want it for a Thanksgiving turkey, note that Amazon’s 2025 event began November 20 — a week before the holiday — and Traeger’s own early markdowns have started before Black Friday itself. Our pellet roundup has the picks.
  • Thermometer:the class with the most consistent November record. If it is a December gift, waiting is reasonable. If you need it before then, buy it — a thermometer is the one accessory we tell every beginner not to cook without. See best meat thermometers.
  • Weber charcoal smoker or kettle: the best documented window, Labor Day, has already passed for 2026. Black Friday is described as the second-biggest, with modest money off the Smokey Mountain when it comes. If the live price suits you now, there is little documented reason to wait.
  • Electric smoker: no documented pattern either way. Buy when the price on the button suits you, and check back here in November.
  • Kamado: a steel or mid-price ceramic kamado has a recent November record; a Big Green Egg almost never discounts. If you are set on the Egg, waiting is unlikely to help. See our kamado roundup.
  • Offset or drum: not enough evidence to advise waiting. Buy when you will use it. An offset in particular is a poor cooker to learn in December.
  • Charcoal, pellets, wood, rub, sauce, paper: buy now. Charcoal discounts cluster around the summer holidays, and we found nothing documenting November markdowns on the rest. Waiting to save on a bag of chunks is not a strategy.

  • Amazon’s event window:not announced for 2026 as of our check. For reference, Amazon’s own announcement put its 2025 Black Friday Week at November 20 through Cyber Monday, December 1, 2025 — twelve days covering the week before the holiday. We will update this line when Amazon publishes 2026 dates.
  • Maker events:ThermoWorks previewed November 20 to December 3 for 2025. Traeger’s own sale page showed no active offers when we checked in September. Neither maker has confirmed 2026 dates.

How to tell a real deal from a sticker

  • Compare with a normal price you saw before the sale.That is what the live prices on this page are for. Every one carries the date it was pulled; note the number now, and in November you will know whether “was $X” means anything.
  • A struck-through list price is the retailer’s claim, not ours. Where our buttons show one, it is the list price Amazon reports for that listing on that day. We do not invent reference prices.
  • A discount on the wrong smoker is not a deal. The type still has to suit the cook. Our how to choose guide and the first-smoker gift guide come before this page, not after it.
  • Watch the model number. Sale-week listings sometimes carry a retailer-specific variant with a different rack count, controller or warranty. Our product cards quote the model we read, so you can check.

What we will post here, and what we will not

When Black Friday pricing goes live we will add a “Live deals” section at the top of this page listing only products we already recommend somewhere on this site, at prices we have seen on the live listing ourselves, with the date we saw them. Each will link through the same buy buttons as everywhere else, so the price you see is the live one, dated, and disappears rather than going stale if our daily check stops.

We will not post “up to X% off” teasers, deals we have not seen, deals on products we would not otherwise recommend, or a prediction of what any price will be. When is Black Friday 2026?

Friday, November 27, 2026, the day after Thanksgiving. Cyber Monday is Monday, November 30, 2026. Amazon's 2025 event ran from November 20 through December 1; it has not announced 2026 dates as of our last check, and we will update this page when it does.

Do smokers go on sale on Black Friday?

Some types have a clear record and some do not. In the 2025 recaps we read, pellet grills had the strongest price drops of any class, and steel and mid-price kamados were marked down. Weber charcoal smokers are described as discounting less predictably and modestly, Big Green Egg almost never, and we found no documented pattern for electric cabinet or drum smokers.

Should I wait for Black Friday to buy a pellet grill?

If you can wait until late November without missing a cook you care about, waiting has historically been rewarded in this class — Field & Stream tracked Traeger's own early Black Friday markdowns model by model, and the 2025 recap tracked Z Grills and Camp Chef models at substantial discounts. Do meat thermometers go on sale for Black Friday?

Historically yes: ThermoWorks runs an annual Black Friday / Cyber Monday event and the 2025 recap we read tracked MEATER, ThermoPro and Thermapen models at large discounts. If your thermometer is a December gift, waiting is reasonable; if you need it to cook a turkey before then, buy it.

Does charcoal go on sale at Black Friday?

Not in any pattern we could document. The recurring Kingsford deal at big-box stores repeats at Memorial Day, the Fourth of July and Labor Day; the source describing it says nothing about Black Friday. Buy charcoal, pellets, wood, rub and sauce when you need them.

Are the deals on this page live?

Not yet. The page currently shows our top picks at their normal live Amazon prices, dated, so you have something honest to compare a sale price with. When Black Friday deals go live we will post the ones we have verified on the live listing at the top of this page, with the date we saw them.

How do you decide which deals to post?

A deal has to be on a product we already recommend somewhere on this site, and we have to have seen the reduced price on the live listing ourselves. We do not post teasers, predictions or deals on products we would not otherwise recommend. Links are affiliate links, which is how the site is funded; the commission does not decide what we post.

Do you test these smokers?

Not all of them, and we say so. Picks are reasoned from the makers' published specifications, beginner-friendliness and value. Nothing on this page is a hands-on claim, and nothing about past discounts is recalled from memory — every historical statement traces to a source cited at the bottom of the page.
